Every personal computer or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program that interacts with the hardware, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, and any applications that are currently installed on your system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, every single app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so that you can set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Web Hosting

Our virtual private server packages include three Linux releases that you could choose from for the Operating System of your new hosting server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Apart from being 100 % free, the OSs are very stable and safe and the primary reason to offer the three of them is to ensure that you'll be able to run each app that you'd like, as different pieces of software could have different requirements in terms of the environment they work on. Each one of the three OSs is backed by a vast community of web developers who have produced many hundreds of software packages that you can set up and use on your VPS. In accordance with the Operating System that you pick, you will also be able to select between 3 different Control Panels to take care of your web hosting content. Needless to say, in case you decide that you need some other OS, we can always reinstall the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also offer you weekly updates of the OS for max stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers Hosting

We offer three Operating Systems with our dedicated server packages - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they're absolutely free so they will not increase the low price of your new hosting server, but also because they are really secure and stable. Each of them is backed up by a big community of web developers, so you'll be given the option to choose from a large number software packages that you can install on your server in case the app that you would like to employ has specific requirements. The Operating System will also determine what hosting Control Panel you can use as the Control Panels that we offer are compatible with specific OSs only and because we want to give you as much adaptability as possible, we offer several OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you get a server with a given OS, we can change it upon request if it turns out that you'll need alternative one. We could also keep your OS updated on a weekly basis as a part of the optional Managed Services upgrade.
